Close...

Well it's close to the New Year 2009...I hope for a good year for everyone with new beginnings, change, faith, love, hope and possible miracles...

We were totally surprised when he got sick last night and not sure what brought it on but doing good today...He slept better last night for a change closer to four hours instead of waking every few hours all night...and he hasn't been able to stand on his right leg much today as it has really been bothering him along with both his shoulders...

I got up this morning and he was trying to figure out the laptop and play the music and play solitaire but couldn't figure how and where to go...so he was playing mahjong's and he said he was having a hard time figuring how to play it...some of the tiles wouldn't move so he gave up...I showed him some stuff on the laptop when I got up...I told him I liked playing spider solitaire and jewel quest...

Well, the ramp is still green and we are still covering it up for a few more days...looks nice, blends right in with what is already there...

His workman's comp check was a few days late and when he opened...it was short...so I put a call into the insurance office and they called back with the explanation of the 16Th was the last day for a check until he's re-evaluated on January 8Th by a state workman's comp doctor for his broken arm to determine if the case is to remain open or close it...so in the mean time, no income coming in until ????...so, until workman's comp makes a determination he can't have work start his short term disability...hope this doesn't take too long...we figured he'd continue to get a check every two weeks until they made a determination after seeing the doctor...the appointment is in Vegas so I hope he can make that long trip...Georgetown is bad enough...it really wears him out and to sit that long hurts his hip/leg...

Well, I guess that's all the updates and I'll close til next year...much luv to everyone and be safe...:D

New Ramp...

A new concrete ramp...a friend of his and some other guys came over this morning and started laying concrete after they staked out the fiber board forms....took about three hours but due to wet they had to skred the concrete to help it settle before covering for the night and for sure the next four to five nights...my understanding it'll help keep its own heat while curing and in three days take off the forms and he says the third day it the most important...don't understand it all but learning...he used to work in a concrete business...it looks nice with the curve in the sidewalk...will post pic in few days...

I had to laugh...I said now maybe he can get out more and we can go for drive often to get him out on short trips so he doesn't get wore out...ha...someone popped off...lol...said he could drive his chair over to street mailbox and check the mail...I didn't think about that one!!!!

He was feeling a bit off yesterday afternoon/evening...not sure why...he might have over done it by being on his leg too much...see he's been trying to use his cane or crutch to help keep the muscle strength up as much as possible...or then again it's going into the second week of second round of the "Sutent" medicine...been keeping track of his vitals off and on...okay but BP's a little high...but no headaches, dizziness or anything...still bit off today but slept alot too in between the guys here for the ramp...he's doing better tonight...his appetite doing pretty good...he was hungry for my taco soup...so I made it and it hit the spot for him...yummmmm
ok, so here it is if anyone wants it:

TACO SOUP...
1-pound hamburger browned & drained
1-sweet onion chopped browned
add and mix all together after above 2 items...
1-can yellow corn
1-can pinto beans
1-can red kidney beans
1-can black beans
1-can hominy yellow or white or both
1-can navy beans
1-can diced tomatoes (optional)
Juice and all from cans....
1-pk taco seasoning mix
1-pk Hidden Valley Ranch the original salad and seasoning mix
1-bottle tomato juice(I use half the day I fix and then on 2nd day
add more sometimes to thin down...to taste for thick or thin
consistancy...
and simmer on low for 1-2 hours...serve with
shredded cheese/diced onions on top, tortilla chips or in bread bowls,
crackers, etc....I've given the recipe to my son-in-law and he puts his
own variation/twist to it...!!!!

As I had the slight fever 99.1 which I've been known to have over the years with the sarcoidosis...a bit off and on too...then I pulled the muscle in leg/hip area when shifting body on couch last night...(I was concerned on how he was feeling)...ouchhhh that it hurt....finally, after an hour I went into bed at 1 a.m. and zonked right out...I have been careful all day and used my cane so it wouldn't affect my knee...feeling pretty good tonight just slight tenderness in area...

Well, not much else...everyone take care and enjoy your weekend...night 8]

Spruced up for Christmas...

He got spruced up this morning for Christmas...I clipped his hair all off as it was getting too long and he shaved...showered and he felt better but wore himself out...he has that baby soft face when he's shaved...love it :D...He had made a comment that he thought the sutent was working and that he would show me after getting cleaned up...

He has this spot on the top of his hand probably about the size of a nickle now (looks like a brown spot or maybe what looks like could be skin cancer)
and he says it was bigger than that before starting the sutent...I had seen it but hadn't realized it was getting smaller...what brought it up was I noticed he had a mole looking spot that was broke open like maybe he clipped it while cutting his hair and he said he hadn't...plus we got him weighed to see if he had lost any more weight since at the doctors October 30th...he has dropped down another 20 pounds...at the start he was 189 back on October 4th...he's down to 163 pounds...

I ran some errands soon afterwards and when I got back I had missed his brother and wife...and our neighbor had stopped in with a flan...she is really a good cook/baker...it is delicious...

I got busy doing other things as well while he napped...banana chipper cookies, peppermint chocolate chex party mix...really good...made a "Killer Kaluha Dbl Chocolate Bundt cake" for the neighbor...made potato salad for the Christmas dinner that will go with the ham...rolls, baked beans, cranberry celebration salad, pumpkin pie....uhhhmmmm....there will be five of us for dinner...

Just relaxing after getting all of it done and playing card game and listening to music while waiting for everyone to sack out...pulled out a couple presents that have been hidden...

Again, apologies if no one understands what I am writing but I write what thoughts come to mind and when I re-read it makes since to me...

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas.....God Bless You All on this B E A U T I F U L Day....good night....

Asking of Prayers...

I'm asking for continued prayers on Tim but others as well...those close, near and dear to our hearts...she has flunctuating blood pressure readings and that the doctor finds the problem, another that she find some peace of mind and smiles :D more, another that she is happ:D with her life and where it's going, another that his dad finds another answer with his doctor for his health, our neighbors that she continues to have the strength to support her family while her husband(no income etc coming in for him) is away getting medical help, another that her husband gets the surgery he needs as he was put back into the hospital after being in this wkend, to my doc whose needing surgery on the 30th-that she has a speedy recovery, to all who are unemployed find work, the service men and women away from home be safe, to those who feel they have to hurt others while they are in pain/sorrow that they look within themselves and stop what they are doing and I know I've missed others but they are in my prayers too...OH, yes I did forget someone-that a lit'l bird find her way to our home...we miss you...just let me kno...mwah

He says he not feeling too hot today, took a loritab that had extra tylenol in it but still off today...he has eaten good and plenty of fluids as well...just gots to be the sutent...he said he felt pretty good on those two weeks when he was off of the sutent...but knows he needs to give it a chance to work...

Well, depending on the weather we may wait til Monday to get his labs done...I may cancel my wound clinic appt for Friday as snow due up around Georgetown...we'll see...

Oh, by the way from yesterday to today after changing the dressing, the opening is the size of a q-tip end...whoo hoo...maybe I'll be let got Friday if I go then....:D

Power out...

Power flicked off and back on Thursday at 12:19 a.m. but didn't think much about it til the power went off Friday night just before 10 p.m....we were watching Christmas shows on TV...we waited a lit'l bit and figured the power wasn't going to come back on for awhile...so Tam got portable oxygen out and light source that has just about everything on it-flashing yellow light, bright light, flashlight, radio, siren, etc....and listened to radio for a bit...then made calls to police department-we were the second call so we called Overton Power and crew had been dispatched to see what the problem was in our area...it was only in a certain section of town...Arrowhead sub and how far out not sure as we could see street lights north of us and wondered if it was due to the bridge makeover on way to Bunkerville for power flickers and outage...will have to check paper next week and see if it gets mentioned as to why our area was out...anyway, Tam got a game out (don't know name of it) where asks you trivia questions to see if you know the answers...anything and everything...Tim and I were trying to answer til he fell asleep and because it was cooling down I covered him up more so he wouldn't get any colder...he's pretty much cold waist down anymore...she continued to ask me questions...so a lit'l after one we both decided to finally sack out and I stayed out on the love seat and kept and eye/ear out for him...Tam and I no sooner decided to sack out and the power started to come back on...hahahahahaha...it went back out....booooooooooooo....
Finally, close to 2 a.m. the power came back on and I finally got up and shut off the Christmas tree and took extra cover off him so he wouldnt wake up too hot...but stayed on the love seat rest of night...not sure how power was going to be...lol...

He started back on the "Sutent" Thursday and he can tell as it's leaving a nasty taste in his mouth again...and a bit constipated but we're working on it to make sure he stays regular like doctor says...I pretty much fix what sounds good to him or what he thinks he can eat...I fixed hamburger patty, mashed tators and coleslaw the other night and it hit the spot with him...fixed him cinnamon bread french toast this morning...no leftovers I think the kids finished it off after him and I laid down to take a nap this morning after breakfast...

Back over Thanksgiving, I told you our oldest Charli and I went Christmas shopping for a neighbor family...well, Secret Santa delivered tonight....tehe tehe tehe...waited close by to see what might be said....ahhhhhhhhh, it was so cute...one of the younger girls opened the door and said there were presents and you could tell she was taking them in and the mother was saying something to the lit'l one and the door was closed...but a few minutes later the lit'l one came back out and said something and I asked Shaun what she said cause he was laughing a bit...she said, "Thank you SANTA, Thank you Santa". That was so cute...Hoping this will make there Christmas a little brighter since their daddy away getting medical help...and mommy only worker...family member renting room from her...well, ummmmmmmmm wonder if any more "pay it forwards" can be done...

The "Piano" song is playing again....still makes me feel like I'm dancing around the room with Tim...

He gets more blood work on Wednesday but it's only once a month now unless doctor changes his mind with a phone call to us...sounds like he's antsy tonight...and cold so kicked up the heater one degree...and with Christmas just a few days away...I wish EVERYONE the Best of CHRISTMAS'S ever with Family and Friends...much luv to you all...

I know...

I know it's been almost a week...but not much to tell...he's doing as well as can be not knowing from one day to the next what each day will bring...

We have learned to keep his bowels going daily or it throws his body off in that he isn't hungry or feels not like eating much. We are learning a lot of different things with this cancer. Making sure he gets plenty of liquids especially water so his kidneys aren't overworking since that is where the cancer started from.

When he's not sleeping, he tries to occupy himself with TV but there really hasn't been much on to watch...and I get movies from the library but nothing interest him...tried books-no, games-no...word puzzles-no...

We do have a friend/s who are going to put in a legal concrete wheelchair ramp so we can get him in and out easier to take maybe a ride to just get out (as we were talking this morn').

Due to the weather we are having, I cancelled my wound clinic appointment today. I didn't feel like traveling on these roads in this wet, cool weather...suppose to be getting some more...I will go to my appointment on Friday...it is down to once a week but this week will be week and a half...I have been changing the dressing daily and it's looking good and smaller...

I got laundry done yesterday but after trying to get him in the shower and cleaned up and fed I had not much energy left to try run the vacuum through the house...maybe today...

Our neighbor has been a sweetheart and couple times a week she has brought some food dish over for us...once it was tamales...those were sooooooooooo good.....then she brought over chicken burritos and they were good too....and jello and then sunday what I thought was vegetable soup until I got to looking and ohhhhhhhhh my it had big pieces of fantail shrimp...so I would say fish chowder...it was sooooooooo good I had to share with ma (mother-in-law)...he doesn't like fish unless it's salmon filet or salmon cakes the way I fix...or tehe...gorton's fish stix and then they can't be fishy smell or soft...which sometimes they can be....I keep telling her she doesn't need to do this...

Okay I need to go and get my breakfast and shwr and etc today....I hope you all like the Christmas Pageant ...a friend sent that by email and I had to share....enjoy your dAY eVERYONE!!!!!!!

The Christmas Pageant...

The Christmas Pageant

My husband and I had been happily
Married (most of the time)
For five years
But hadn't been blessed with a baby.

I decided to do some serious
Praying and promised God
That if he would give us a
Child,
I would be a perfect mother,
Love it with all my heart
And raise it with His word
As my guide.

God answered my prayers
And blessed us with a son.

The next year God blessed us
With another son.

The following year,
He blessed us with
Yet another son.

The year after that we
Were blessed with a daughter.

My husband thought we'd
Been blessed right into poverty.
We now had four children,
And the oldest was only
Four years old.

I learned never to ask God
For anything unless I meant it.
As a minister once told me,"If you pray for rain,
Make sure you carry an umbrella."

I began read ing a few verses
Of the Bible to the children
Each day as they lay in their cribs.

I was off to a good start.
God had entrusted me
With four children and
I didn't want to disappoint Him.

I tried to be patient the day
The children smashed
Two dozen eggs on
The kitchen floor searching
For baby chicks.

I tried to be understanding...
When they started a hotel for
Homeless frogs in the spare bedroom,
although it took me nearly two hours
To catch all twenty-three frogs.

When my daughter poured
Ketchup all over herself and
Rolled up in a blanket to see
How it felt to be a hot dog,
I tried to see the humor
Rather than the mess.

In spite of changing over
Twenty-five thousand diapers,
Never eating a hot meal
And never sleeping for more
Than thirty minutes at a time,I still thank
God daily for my children.

While I couldn't keep my promise
To be a perfect mother -
I didn't even come close...
I did keep my promise
To raise them in the Word of God.& nbsp;

I knew I was missing the mark
Just a little when I told
My daughter we were going
To church to worship God,
And she wanted to bring
A bar of soap along to
"wash up" Jesus, too.

Something was lost
In the translation when
I explained that
God gave us everlasting life,
And my son thought it was
Generous of God to give
Us his "last wife."

My proudest moment came
During the children's
Christmas pageant.

My daughter was playing Mary,
Two of my sons were shepherds
And my youngest son was a wise man.
This was their moment to shine.

My five-year-old shepherd
Had practiced his line,
"We found the babe wrapped
In swaddling clothes."

But he was nervous and said,
"The baby was wrapped
In wrinkled clothes."

My four-year-old "Mary" said,
"That's not 'wrinkled clothes,' silly.
That's dirty, rotten clothes."

A wrestling match broke out
Between Mary and the shepherd
And was stopped by an angel,
Who bent her halo and lost Her left wing.

I slouched a little lower
In my seat when Mary
Dropped the doll representing
Baby Jesus, and it bounced
Down the aisle crying,
"Mama-mama."

Mary grabbed the doll,
Wrapped it back up
And held it tightly as
The wise men arrived.

My other son stepped forward
Wearing a bathrobe
And a paper crown,
Knelt at the manger
And announced,
"We are the three wise men,
And we are bringing gifts
Of gold,
Common sense
And fur.

"The congregation
Dissolved into laughter,
And the pageant
Got a standing ovation.

"I've never enjoyed a Christmas
Program as much as this one,"
Laughed the pastor,
Wiping tears from his eyes.

"For the rest of my life,
I'll never hear the
Christmas story without
Thinking of
Gold,
Common sense
And fur."

"My children are my pride
And my joy and my greatest
Blessing," I said as I dug
Through my purse for an aspirin.

Jesus had no servants,
Yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree,
Yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines,
Yet they called Him Healer.

Had no army,
Yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles,
Yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime,
yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb,
yet He lives today.

Feel honored
to serve such a Leader
who loves us.

Nice to see...

It is so nice to see him back to almost normal...I was so afraid he was going to end up in the hospital from getting sick and having hard time eating and drinking anything...he is definitely allergic to morphine!!!!! He actually sat and ate chili cheese fries tonight for dinner and then a lit'l bit of real strawberry ice cream...but a small amount...:D

The doctor's office called and said the new script for loritab was called in and to see how he does for pain on this again and to call on Monday...the Sutent arrived today ready for him to start the second round on Dec 18th...

I feel like we are doing a "Pay it Forward"...with all that we are going through we are managing to help others as well...he's offered our home to Shaun and his dad (Ken in still in SLC) if need be and he's even offered our home to Charli and her family in Indiana...worried bout making ends meet and every time he tries to do or look he feels its not good enough...last five years being rough with the passing of his mom and dad and nanna...the economy...Tim has told him to pack it all up and come out here at least they would have a roof over their heads and we'd all be together...Charli surprised her dad with her coming out and made him happ:D and in turn a young lady did a b e a u t i f u l job on her hair and Tylee didn't realize she made Charli happ:D too and into turn Charli gave Tylee a thank you card and photos of her new hair color and said to use in her portfolio for future hair clients...so they could see what she can do...make Tylee happ:D...when Charli was here we went Christmas shopping at late night for a family in the neighborhood who is in need and try to make the christmas for the kids a lit'l better for them...

Tam and Shaun are headed for SLC this weekend to see his dad and find out what the doctors can do for Ken and/or when he will be coming home...Pray that the two have a safe trip up and back...she will be finished with finals this week...

Pray for the sisterly friend of Tam's that she takes care of herself and that lit'l one she's carrying...she will be happ:D when she gets the gift I asked my mother to make for her....and I do hope she likes it...I still have to finish something for her lit'l one...I still have a month and a half to go....

I better be getting off here...tomorrow is going to be here before you know it and I have to run and get stuff from store and pick up meds...just want everyone to be happ:D and safe...and have a... b e a u t i f u l ...day tomorrow!....mwah

Good sleep...

He had a good nights sleep...I kept waking up checking on him and he didn't get up once until this morning at 630 a.m. COLD...me too...yeaaaa...

He's kept 7up down and had water and its has stayed down...he laid down for bout an hour and got up and took next dose of loritab...he said he is doing okay with pain...no break through pain...and asked for couple eggs and toast...yes, he has kept that down and I think he is back to being his normal self as much as he can be with the cancer....

I will call K in a little while and let her know his progress...maybe he won't need the home health nurse to come in and give him an IV drip for fluids...and get script called in for loritab to get him thru the weekend and call K again Monday on his progress and let her know how he is doing...

Continued prayers are appreciated for this setback and his strength for energy and that the second round of Sutent is doing it's job and slowing down the cell growth...

Everyone have a sUpEr DuPeR DAY!!!!!! I'll keep ya posted...by:D

Allergy to meds...

Well, after slowly going back on pain meds Sunday and waiting for doctor office to call Monday....he's back to throwing up at times especially with water but he can keep 7up down...basically, dry heaves...eats like a mouse...lit'l bit here and there...we feel he has an allergy to morphine....yea....

I went to the wound clinic today as I missed Friday's appt. since he was sick and Mandi is happ:D with the way my shoulder is healing...doing a different dressing with more breatheable gauze and changing every day has made a difference...it has gotten smaller since last Tuesday and will continue to change dressing every day and use and antibiotic ointment...just a faint smear and gauze/tape...don't need to go in til next Tuesday but still have appts scheduled for Fridays but will cancel if don't need them...I could very well be done by Christmas???!!...I hope...but sad at the same time...everyone in the wound clinic is so....I can't seem to find the right word...I love them all and they are that good and concerned with your recovery and I especially love Mandi....

So after the wound clinic, I walked down to the doctors office for him and left message to have K call later in day so I wouldn't miss her call while driving back from my appointment...what other options do we have to try...he's refusing to go to the ER...

K called later this evening early and said from the sounds of it that he has an allergy to morphine...to STOP taking anymore and go back on loritabs and call to let her know how he is doing...if doing okay on loritabs get new script to help him get through the weekend and see how he is doing...he had no problem with loritabs but not sure that will be strong enough for his pain...it's getting more so in his right leg/hip/groin area...K will see about a home health nurse to come in and give him an IV drip to push fluids back into him and make sure he gets hydrated properly...otherwise, he is doing good holding his own except for this setback...

We are expecting his second round of Sutent tomorrow to be delivered by FEDEX and start on December 18th for 4 weeks and off 2 weeks again...it better be worth it at $7000 a whack...even though we only pay $20 copay...sorry, sometimes I feel irritated/frustrated...I don't like to see him this way...as I was driving back home today from Georgetown a thought came to me....that because of his hardships and pain his has suffered in his life my thoughts were that I would want him to be the first to go home and not have to suffer anymore and yet that is almost funn:( NOT...he is still having to suffer...I am there for him and will continue to be...I will be on the love seat again tonight and help him get through the night and get him back on track and start the loritab...something that doesn't make him sick to his stomach....we were hoping for a quality of life through all this...not what is happening...guess that can't be when terminal...you never know from one day to the next how his day will be...try to make his as comfortable as possible and think of different things that he might be able to eat/drink...

It's after midnight...I guess I'd better get off here and get some rest myself...he's laying awake watching a christmas show on Hallmark...it looks like it's going to be a long night til his system is cleared up...we'll both be napping for sure tomorrow or rather today...take care everyone and be safe...Good nIGHT...

Doing Better...

He's doing better...but still having problems finding the right stomach nausea medicine to help...keeps trying different foods in small amounts to see what he's able to eat and taste good...

I slept on the love seat Friday night...he said he wanted someone with him 24 hours until he pulled himself out of the stupor he was in...he didn't like the way he was feeling from the meds...and every nausea meds doesn't seem to be working...I took the pain patch off Friday around 12:30 p.m. and the doctor on call said to give it about six hours and if he improved then we knew what med was the culprit...guess what it was the pain patch...but also he decided on his own to back off everything cold turkey and you're not suppose to do that...so I went with his wishes and stuck with him night and day since Friday to get through this...I even said if he didn't try to sip more he was going to the ER...NO, I'm NOT...slowly got liquids in him and lit'l bits of food more fruit pieces and jello...sips of sprite...got him 7-up today...

He's back to his talking in his sleep again...rambling a mile a minute, think he was going to sleep and within a few minutes he started in again...especially Friday night when I slept in family room on love seat...I think I might have gotten 2 hours sleep and then I slept more during the day when he was sleeping...and just as bad when he wasn't taking any meds...this morning is the first time he decided to take a 1-8 hour morphine pill (time released) and he was really hurting and didn't want to do anything or whatever except get up to use the bathroom...it was a easier for me to give him a sponge bath in the bed and kept telling him to let me do the lifting or holding his leg that hurt and automatic reaction for him was to help...

In his sleep talks, he has mentioned several times he wants to be here for his wife and the girls but it's hard and he hurts and don't know that he can hang on...after getting him cleaned up and covering him up since he gets cold easy now...I was frank with him and said I don't want to sound selfish but I want him here for as long as possible but if he can't do it anymore that it was okay to go home...he said he knew but will be here as long as he can...it'll be hard for awhile but we'll be okay in time....that was so hard telling him and not cry....and it was odd because after he went back to sleep again...whoever he was talking to or with...said end of year or try to in New Year...I'm just a burden...but also something about they wouldn't be out til July again...I'm just guessing that he was talking about our oldest daughter and family as that is when they come out to visit every year...when he woke later on...I told him he wasn't a burden...

Today, his eating is more or at least he's trying but still dealing with the nausea...he's able to hold down 7up, water, applesauce, can fruit natural, jello, yes...and ice cream too in small amounts...everything is in small amounts...he had a lit'l amount of tomato mac...okay, for those who don't know tomato mac is his specialty that I learned about after we got together in 1985...elbow macaroni and tomato juice with whatever side you wanted like cold cuts, etc...or just crackers...he was able to get that down...for dnner he even asked for tuna fish and crackers...didn't work...he couldn't even get the one cracker with tuna on it down...so we tried a lit'l bit of chicken broth...wasn't sure that would sit on his stomach...waited and then had some pears...

Shaun's dad is still in SLC...doctors said he wasn't exactly a candidate for heart surgery but would see what they could do for him...so he's just waiting to see what they are going to do...Shaun's suppose to go up next weekend to take care of legal matters unless his dad calls and says to come get him now...

Wow, when it rain's it pours....Tamra headed back this evening so she could study for finals this week plus clean her dorm and have everything out by Saturday 13th noon or they get charged $100...so she is going to have a busy week and pray she does well with her finals and not worry too much bout her dad and future father in law...

Well, I think I've covered everything that's been going on...hope everyone has a safe week and not tooooo cold where ever you are...good night....

Feeling Hopeful....

We were feeling hopeful after seeing the doctor yesterday...the doc tweaked his meds and hopefully the talking in his sleep and nausea will be less...he was given a different stomach med other than prilosec called pantoprazole he's suppose to start that one this morning...he got a pain patch"fentanyl" good for three days and change out every three days to cut back on morphine pills that can cause the nausea and sleep talking...and a nausea pill called anzemet to see if it helps with the nausea and if does then he takes it along with sutent when he starts back on them on Dec 18th...he has taken sutent for 28 days and now he has to be off 14 days before he starts the second round of sutent...the blood tests are down from every week to once a month...and he goes back to see doctor on Jan 22nd...

I put the patch on him yesterday around 3pm and he cut back from 2 to 1 morphine pills that is timed released...but he's to taper back until the patch starts working...he said he wasn't in any pain this morning...and he wasn't going to take his morphine pill...just maybe the fast acting morphine pill...he didn't sleep talk but his snoring has picked up...some friends let us borrow their hospital bed...now he's able to raise his legs up if he wants but most definitely be able to sit up or lay flat if he wants...last night anyway he said it seemed to make a difference...thx for the use of the bed...even caught him laying on is side sleeping yesterday evening...not side of broken arm...

I get up this morning and he has been up for short bit and sweating like a dog ...no tempture tho...and throwing up...the only thing I can figure out is it's the sutent and not taking it for two days now...like how chemo can make you sick...after he's done he turns around and goes back to sleep...hasn't eaten yet, hasn't taken any morning meds, hasn't even drank any water, he doesn't even want me to call docs to verify that it is the sutent makin' him sick...might sneak a call into the special pharmacy that sends out the sutent by fedex to us and see what they say...

Needless to say, I cancelled my wound clinic appt. this morning and will see Mandi on Tuesday for sure...she has had me change my dressing out after Tuesday to see if it will help dry it up more instead of staying so boggy or wet...so far it looks good when and less wet when I've changed it out every day...we'll see how today looks later on...

Before I forget, on Monday he did get his own motor wheelchair...it's actually nicer in movebility and functions and a bit smaller and he can get into the bathroom with that one so the secretarial chair is now put away...

Shaun's dad is now in the hospital...went up early yesterday morning...the docs finally did an angiogram and he has the choice of going home to die or go to SLC for pacemaker...I gather he's a bit stubborn so hopefully his family convinced him cause Tam called this morning and said they were transporting Shaun's dad to SLC. So prayers are needed for his dad too...Tam has finals next week so pray she doesn't wipeout with everything that is going on...hint hint....future father-in-law....CORRECTION::::: just got a call from Shaun...his dad is going to SLC to see if he is a candidate for a artificial heart or heart transplant....

Well, I think that's all for now...so enjoy your TGIF day and hope you all have a B E A U T I F U L SUNN:D WKEND....

Looking...

This foto is one of my favorites...Shaun was trying to get Tam to smile...talk about goofy...lol...and then his snikering grin...:D
I came home from the wound clinic looking for our oldest thinking from the texting that she was still here....I so wanted to see her again before she left for Vegas to catch her flight back to Indiana...I miss her and wish she lived closer....I actually went through the house looking for her...in everyroom....yeah....crying...

I'm going back to the wound clinic on Friday and then we are going to try every Friday and see how my wound is doing on 12th and if it works...I will only go once a week on Fridays...I will be changing the dressing myself every day til Friday and hope that by doing that it will dry up the wound more as it's staying too moist or what they call bogged...but it definitely is smaller....

He's still holding his own...sleeps alot and talks more and more in his sleep...his eating is up and down from day to day...but still pretty much soft foods, nothing sweet/too sweet, or has too much cooking spray or butter...he seems to be able to handle the strawberry waffles and mini pancakes pretty good in the mornings and he said no more eggs...that was one of his favorites...

We were going to take him for his lab work on Wednesday last week but other things cropped up and with the way it was rainy and windy we thought it wasn't best to take him out in that kind of weather...don't need to take any chances of him getting sick...

Thanksgiving day was nice...Tam did our usual snakin' trays that is family tradition...cut up beef stixs, cheeses, crackers, cheese balls, can cheese, veggies and ranch dip, chips...and when it was time I did the turkey and brown bagged it in the oven and the girls did the rest and cleaned up...first time I didn't have to clean up after a Turkey dinner in a lonnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time...we enjoyed it...

We did however get him over for his labs on Friday and had company off and on all day...he got kind of wore out and slept for a while...he would have been okay if the trip to the hospital for blood work hadn't worn him out...need to see if the insurance will cover someone coming out to draw it at home and take to the hospital...

Our oldest and I went christmas shopping for a family in the neighborhood that will be needing a little help from Santa this Christmas...her husband is laid up and trying to get medical help back home...and the mother mentioned that she had the kids names put on that Christmas Tree here in town....but I wanted to pass it "Forward" and show some kindness and humbleness in helping out even with our situation with him and I...

The news this morning said we were in a "Recession" but after watching the movie "Kit Kittridge-an American Girl" during the depression times...sooooooooo reminds me of what is going on today and makes me think we are in a depression not a recession...so I too am going to pass it "Forward" and make Christmas a little brighter for some lit'l ones....

There was something he said that I was going to blog last week...oh yeah...he was talking in his sleep and mentioning his meds and getting blood work done once a week and hurting and didn't want to be like this...and said I want to go home, PLEASE...I don't want to be like this...

It's not the quality of life we were hoping for...but need to give the meds at least three months chance but not sure he can handle another biopsy with the shape he's in now...let alone the trip up to Georgetown...

We had also been trying to do a family fotos session but that kept getting put off til Sunday and then just by the skin of our teeth...just need to print out the copies from the printer....for christmas cards and webpage too...

Well, I feel the need to take a nap...sitting here blogging and bobbing my head...ahhhh, take a NAP!!!!.....

Good bye....

May I please borrow $25?....

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard every day for such childish frivolities.' The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. 'Are you asleep, son?' He asked. 'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy. 'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.' The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled. 'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.' The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Sad...

Sad today...the tears just keep flowing like a faucet...on and off...trying to get over the bronchitis and tired, really tired...plans didn't work out for oldest daughter to go to wound clinic with me as I'd rather have someone with him just in case...he kept saying...go! go! GO!...I'll just be sleeping..but we didn't honor it...Charli stayed here...
By the way the wound continues to do well...the personnel in the wound clinic are so wonderful and made every effort to cheer me up and got me to laughin'...
Yeah, another issue has come up and daughter thought she caused the problem but she didn't...computer tech got problem isolated down to the fact my dsl modem might defective...I get internet but can't get my emails in or out...suppose to get new modem tomorrow...I have to say I am one of those that would feel lost without the computer...it's my lifeline to everyone...FAR! and near...
With it Thanksgiving week...he'll get his blood work tomorrow morning...nurse from family doctor called and said all the tests were good for the 20th don't know about the 13th...MaryAnn is a sweetheart...funn:D we know quite a few MaryAnn's anymore...must be a reason...who knows!??! Random thoughts...hahahaha
Special people in our lives stopped by this morning thinking it was the computer tech and it was family...stopped by to drop off a little something for us for Thanksgiving and the Holidays....I opened them and all I do was cry.........................................................he said they don't do that for many but special ones in their lives......
He made comment last night that he feels that it's going from bad to worse....his body language looked like he was fighting tears...
Home health care has been approved when he feels he wants the nurse to come by...just to call the main office and get it set up again...
Still waiting on motor wheelchair...Jeremiah called today and they are expediting and he said should know something tomorrow so main office can get it ordered...in the mean time he had a manual wheelchair he gave us to use in van so if I'm by myself with him I don't have to run into facilities looking for one...I just yank that one out and he can slip into it...easily manuverable but too big for the house...so I could possible push him unless there's a slope...we'll see...I'll be by myself next Thursday when he has to go to Georgetown to see doctor...
I made comment to him and older daughter that the sad part about all this is he unable to be in bed to be close and not being able to hold him cause he hurts...I lightly touch him on good leg or arm...I hate to see him suffering...he didn't even feel like talking to a close friend tonight...friend asked if there was anything he needed and I was fighting the tears and said no...didn't know what else to tell him...he will try to stop by tomorrow...
I will be glad when our youngest comes home from college for the four day weekend and spend time with us and her sister...we need this time before her sister goes back to Indiana on Tuesday...
Well, I'm going to call it a night and wish eVERYoNE a sPECIAL sAFE hOLIDAY wEEKeND....

Built up...

So many things going on and it all builds up...then bam I either can't let loose or it just flows...not sure what all to tell...just a bit of everything...my appointments for shoulder twice a week still, his labs once a week for doctor and that in it self is a trip and a half...
He finally got his prosthesis brace for his fractured left arm on Friday...he said it seems to make a difference...but still have to be gentle...
It seems like something is always going on...comings and goings, not necessarily for him but me and then people come over to check on him...I've been trying to keep my rest and strength up and my home remedies just wasn't cutting it so finally went to docs and I have bronchitis and caught it in time before it turned into pneumonia...I haven't been sick for two years straight but with the new stress and finding an inner strength to do what needs to be done I've gotten myself somewhat sick...
it's hard when you have to keep repeating yourself in telling someone I have been dealing with this since 1989 and I know when I'm getting sick and need an antibiotic to fight it...and I just lost it today and then turned around and apologized for my behavior especially to the nurse...she hoped everything would be okay...
Social security called today like they said they would for the appointment to get his disability started and told him to worry about his health and they would take care of getting his disability expedited in 30-60 days...another thing done...
Now, gotz to get computer geek here in morning to see why not getting emails through Outlook Express...tried everything...have been getting them through webmail website...don't like it...
Found out he didn't want to take his meds for pain...was tired of being dopey...so backed off but decided tonight to take less amount but he'll probably still be in pain to a degree...which the doctor's assistant doesn't believe in pain...still having problems eating off and on...may have to get other meds to help him eat better when see doctor next week...like yesterday wasn't a good day all around...eating and pain wise....
Well, I guess I go for now...have another appointment tomorrow besides Friday...oh, yeah oldest daughter made it out last week on Wednesday and she has been a big help...taken some of the load off me but still trying to take care of her home and work stuff from a distance.

Everyone have a gREAT tHANKSGIVING...enjoy your families and friends...and gOD bLESS yA....nite

Been a few days...

It's been a few days...he's holding his own but is eating better but more like snakin' every 2-3 hours...it seems to be pretty much soft foods...jello, pudding, applesauce, oatmeal, eggs, english muffin, soup, crackers/cheese, mashed tators and gravy, coleslaw and hamb stk/patty...can't seem to handle anything greasy...like I bbq'd last night hamburgers and beef hot dogs and he had the hamburger patty no bread and did fine with that but today tried eating one of the hot dogs but said was too greasy his stomach wouldn't handle it...nothing too heavy...

Some nights he sleeps closer to three hours than 1.5 to 2 hours...I tried sleeping in bedroom the second half of last night after I got up with him around one a.m. and I slept better and surprisingly I did hear him and he keeps insisting I sleep in the bedroom so I get a better restful nights sleep...hahaha, that's easier said than done...he knows I wake up when I hear him so he said unless he hollers to stay in bed....we'll see...

I was so wiped out yesterday and thought I had recouped yesterday afternoon but this morning it took everything I had to muster up the energy to get myself ready and get to Georgetown and get my shoulder rebandaged at the wound clinic...which is coming along good...Mandi used an iodine paste to help draw out more the drainage and then put a big square bandage on...til Friday, then she's going to use a lit'l silver nitrate on this one tiny piece of tissue flap to remove and I believe do the iodine again...til Tuesday and see where we are at then...hopefully she'll say lets cut down to once a week...it's getting to be that time of year I always stick close to home and do my shopping early morning hours to stay away from sick people cause I don't need to be sick with his health the way it is now and I have been fortunate not to be sick last two years around holidays...yea...I think it due to vitamin changes and taking C and iron and learning that I do better on 8-9 hours of sleep than shorter hours cause then it seems like I'm sleeping all the time...like yesterday and today in between everything...

Oh yeah, on the dishwasher ha ha ha ha...because it's all one piece and no individual parts...the pump did go out but it'll take a new pump/motor etc and estimate was $260+ parts and labor...uhhh, let me call you on that...it might be cheaper to get a new dishwasher....so I'm window shopping...

His arm brace/cast/prosthesis whatever you choose to call it...finally came it and he's to get it fitted on Friday by the therapist...that means Thursday morning for labs and Friday for the brace...and it definitely will be hard days for him...I would do both in one day but that would totally wear him out and pain wise wouldn't be good...as far as sitting too long with the pelvic and right leg...also I have two appointments on Friday myself earlier in the day...so it's going to be a longgggggggggggg one for me on Friday....

Pastor has someone coming by tomorrow with him to help with vacuuming/mopping, maybe on a regular basis...we'll see...Shaun (younger daughter's boyfriend) has been a great help but with him working graveyards I can't always depend on him...he needs a break too...and sleep!!!!!!!

Well, I think I'm finding my energy tonight so that should mean tomorrow might be a decent day...I'll know in the morning...tehe...

A thought came to mind just now...when I was getting ready this morning for the appointment...I have to wash my hair in the kitchen sink then take shower from chest down due to the wound on the shoulder...I was headed for the shower when he started talking in his sleep...sorry, I couldn't help but laugh just because the timing was just so perfect like right on cue...he was talking in his sleep and then all of a sudden he said, "hey" and I turned around and looked and he's asleep and his hand was like doing the motion for the TV remote like pushing the buttons...I was trying so hard not to laugh and wake him up....see there still is humor in life even all that has come about...and the fact he made a comment this morning on my way out the door to my appointment that he wished I didn't have to go to it too, "he likes having me around"....how sweet...

I believe that's all the updates for now...OH yeah, our oldest daughter will be here in the morning hopefully around 11a.m. and surprise her dad...yeah, SURPRISE...he doesn't know and it's not just for Thxgiving but for two weeks...

You'll have a good eve...and dON'T lET tHE bED bUGS bITE!!!!...lol...nite :)

Strenuous...

Before...

Strenuous trying to help him take a shower...let see...uhhhmmm...used motor chair to go into main bathroom as it has a shorter tub to get into...the masterbath has a high side as it's a jet tub/shower...we both decided that the motor chair was not going to cut it...so I wheeled it out of the bathroom and got the secretarial desk chair that rolls around easy and he straddled it and got him into the tub and then swung his legs into the tub and luckily we have a shower head that unhooks and he was able to one handed (with my help) wet down and soap up and rinse off...lol...then we started from the feet up...not sure why but at the time it made since...dried him off and got him half way dressed then he straddled chair again and I finished drying him and sprayed deo and he looked in the mirror (looks like its spelled wrong) and he was wanting to shave...dear, I think we should have done that first so you could rinse hairs off in the shower...okay next time...oh well, duh forgot the last r...there that's good now...hahahahaha...anyway, got out into familyroom and went to get him a shirt and clean arm sling...and took a picture...so there is a before and after...he may not look any different but I had to...lol...when I took the before...I said it looked like (facial expression) grouch popping out of the trash can on Sesame Street...lol...he looked and laughed with me...he's admitted he's looking thin around the chin/neck area...he may look old with the gray beard but when clean shaven it's soft as a "baby's bottom"...lol...I told him I would shave him but not with the razor. I would use the electric one...I'm getting my exercise in an odd sort of way but I had to turn up my oxygen from the exersion...did just fine and sat at kitchen table and said, "I don't think I'm going to clean the bathrooms today too wore out. I'll just do the laundry." He's taking a nap now cause he said his hip/leg were really bothering him again...course it was close to time of his next dosage of pain meds...

I do have to admit that after looking at the after picture...close up when cropping...his left side of his face looks a bit saggy around the mouth...

After...

Oh, I went to check the mail and another issue to attend to...the power steering needs flushed out...and new fluid put in...we have to do this every few years or it picks up an awful squeel...yeah, I know I'm holding it together...

Okay, I shant blog again today...lol...I think...just to let you know I/we are getting through it together...we both get wore out but we are figuring it out together...but I do have my moments....oh yeah...in private...don't want him to see how much it really is affecting me now....luv to all and have a sUNNY sU:Day!!!! Take care...lata me <3

No more...

No more problems...we were up at five a.m. and he got his meds and I fixed breakfast for him but he wasn't able to eat much...he said chewing was hard to do but he managed to eat half the eggs and all the sourdough muffin...

He went over and laid down as his hip was hurting/bothering him and sitting too long makes it worse...so I picked up breakfast stuff and started dishwasher and went in to take a shower and when I came out I noticed the rug in front of the sink was wet in the right corner and I started to slide it over and realized that the dishwasher was leaking....no no no no not now...I have enough to deal with and started to lose it...and said "NO, I can't do this!!!" and told myself we'll get it taken care and noticed he was awake and asked what he wanted to do...I was afraid of the water not getting cleaned up and mold setting in...well, he had me call Kelvin and he called back and said he'd be over...water wasn't that bad but Kelvin thinks its the pump cause its right where the rug would bump up against the dishwasher while it was running...so I have a call put into the repair service outfit here in town...not sure when I'll get a call back but in the mean time the dishwasher is sort of...lol...hangin' out :)~~~~ told Kelvin to leave it as it would be less of a hassle when whoever comes to fix it or trash it....hahahaha....ohhhh, I felt sorry for Kelvin down on my dirty floors and I think I'll start on my bathrooms today while I'm doing laundry...CLEAN...the house is really getting to me, actually ashamed of the way it looks....

Oh, I finally got the Will, Living Will and Power of Attorney ready for witnesses and notary tomorrow...another thing out of the way...

I'm trying to keep busy I think more so I don't really have to think about losing him...cause I know I'll be lost without him...and my crying is more and more but in private...like now...a friend said I was in morning already...I'd almost have to believe her...cause I don't know how long he'll be here with us...and I don't want to sound selfish but I don't want to lose him...sorry but I guess it's all getting to me and in front of people I put on a good front too, just like him...I don't like seeing him in this shape, feeling helpless that he can't help me or do what needs to be done around the house...

He slept better last night...went to bed around 930pm and woke at 1am for meds to get him through the night and yeaaaaaaaaa...didn't wake again til 5am....lol...I kept hearing this clicking noise and it didn't stop so I jumped up off the couch to see what he was doing causing the clicking was coming from the motor wheelchair..."are you okay? Oh, your awake, yeah I'm okay." I thought maybe the clicking was cause he'd gone downhll some more, maybe in his mind and didn't remember how to operate the motor chair...no, he's cool beans...

He's back to sleep again but I know he'll be ready for a shower after kids leave for a game in Vegas here soon...it's 11a.m....the game is this afternoon I think they said at 230pm...so he'll get in after they leave...I'm going to have him sit on shower chair and then I'll swing his legs over into the tub and let the shower run over him like if he was out in the rain...can't stand so will have to dry him off as best I can...sponge baths just don't cut it...he said...I agree...

Well, I'm going to get off here and try to get some stuff done and go check mail before the kids take off for a while...as far as the picture above of him...the one good arm is always moving in his sleep like he's doing something and sometimes you can make out what he is saying...other times it's just mumbling...

Take care and have a sUPER sATURDAY....

I'm Your Angel...

On silver wings I crossed the ocean
In reverie of the night eyes reign.
Lightning bolts have stolen the skies
From the shadows of the usurper.
We can dance in the rain
Splashing red mist from deepest pain.
Nothing matters more than you
When I must look into your eyes
Seeking higher places
Where nobody cries
Baby I’m your angel,
I’m your angel tonight
Come shelter under my wing
Lightning bolts your angel brings
To steal the skies from horrible things
Take this from my heart and sing...
Good night, sleep safe
Feel my presence at your shoulder
Triumph is yours fair one
Cause I will watch your back.
I reach my arms to you
I will hold you
I will protect you
I am your angel
Dreaming wet moon lights the skies.
Until you join me with your smiling eyes,
Earth’s most beautiful creatures,
We’ll have tear-filled eyes.
On silver wings I crossed the ocean
In reverie of the night eyes reign.
My lightning bolts have stolen the skies
From the shadows of the usurper.
Know we dance in the rain
Splashing red mist to rivers pain.
Nothing makes me happier than you
Now that I look into your eyes
Reaching higher places
Where nobody dies
Baby I’m your angel,
I’m your angel tonight
Your angel
Baby I’m your angel
I am your angel
And I love you
Your angel
Baby I’m your angel
Dreaming wet moon lights the skies.
Until you join me with your smiling eyes,
Earth’s most lonely creatures,
We’ll have tear-filled eyes.
Baby now I’m your Angel
I’m your angel tonight
Baby I’m your angel
I’m your angel tonight
Your angel
Baby I’m your angel
Your angel
Baby I’m your angel
Good night fair one
I’ll watch your back
So earth’s most loving creatures
Sleep well tonight
Baby I’m your angel
I’m your angel tonight
Your angel
Baby I’m your angel
I’m your angel tonight…

Well...

Well....uhhmmm...not sure what to write...starting to feel numb and pulled in different directions and crying more...he sleeps an awful lot...especially today cause we had to make that trip to the hospital for lab work this morning...and he said it was hard to sit in the wheelchair and just making that short trip really wore him out...he used the motor chair to get to the van and said he would sit in back of the van cause there was no way he could get up in the passenger side and sit in the seat!!!!!!!!...not with a broken left arm and right leg that has given out on him this last Sunday...
I'm not sure what it's going to be like come December 4th when we have to drive to Georgetown and see doc...I'm sure that trip will reallllly wear him out....and hear blood work results done weekly and get new orders for further blood work to continue on the "Sutent" for another 28 days...
He was going through paperwork that we don't need to worry about until few days before phone appointment with S.S. on 24th...I sometimes feel like he's pushing to get stuff done (whether he's aware of it or not and that his body is maybe telling him to get things in order) and I can only do so much...suppose to get Will, Living Will Declaration and General Power of Attorney notorized on Sunday...luckily they can come to the home and do it with witnesses....
Jeremiah stopped by today to get info and all to process for his own motor chair...and after seeing Tim...he's going to push it through asap...instead of standard time to qualify...yes!!!!...
I watched the movie Kit Kittridge The American Girl...story 1934 Depression times and boy, does it sure sound like our day in time NOW....whoaaaa.....good movie....that was my short down time and then had to take a nap....couldn't go any longer...gotz to get up earlyyyyy in morning to leave at 715 a.m. for my wound appt in Georgetown...hopefully, they won't be too busy...if I haven't already said...should be maybe only another month for my shoulder....yes!!!!
Well, I'm going to call it a night on this entry and wish you all well and a TGIF!!!! whoo hoo...take care...

Hard time...

He's having a hard time eating and I had put a call into Dr. Te or K to call back...because of the changes...need a motor chair, concerned about his cough, hungry but can't eat and he does try to eat his stomach gets upset/heartburn...
Tam came home from college for a day...holiday for her at college and work...she went up with me to the wound clinic and Mandi said my shoulder is looking good and she estimates about another month and she probably will release me....whoo hoo one less thing to worry about....yes!...but while I was there Shaun (Tam's boyfriend) stayed with him...lol...Tam and I kept getting calls or texts from the guys...and everytime one came in I was thinking something was wrong....not....
K from oncologist office walked over and talked to me about Tim...gave me a script for motor chair, some compazine and if his cough changes like in color and running a fever to call her and she'll call an antibiotic in at pharmacy for him to take...
I'm still hangin ' in there...but my hardest times are when I'm so tired I want to cancel my appointment at the wound clinic but yet I find this inner strength to push myself and get movin'...and like today I'm so tired that my muscles hurt and it makes it worse to try and do what I need to do and all I wanted to do was come home after the appointment and get him situated after lunch and take a nap...I kept dozin' in and out cause the phone started ringing...and I finally gave up napping...and his younger brother and wife came over...a good visit and offers of help to give them a call...as always we appreciate everyones offers and we are keeping them in mind for when we will start needing them...Shaun is going to help Thursday morning to get Tim in the van and over to Mesa View for lab draws (that has to be done every week for 3 weeks on Thursday morning) and Shaun is coming over after work Friday morning as I have to leave at 7:15 a.m. to my wound care appointment...someone want to offer if he can't make it??? as of tonight he said he'd be here...til I get back from Georgetown and then he could get some sleep for graveyard shift that night...like I said he's really been a sweetheart in helping out here...
Yes, I'm still working on the will, living will, and power of attorney between all that is going on and my wanting to take naps to keep my strength up...and my wound appointments...I've got to to slip in some grocery shopping in next couple days...
So glad to see him able to eat a little more today...he's hungry but has a hard time eating yet...K said if still not helping with the compazine to call her again as well and she'll give him another script to help him want to eat...like prednisone...it can make you want to eat especially if dose more than 10mg which I'm on daily for sarcoidosis in my lungs...but we'll see over next few days or so...he managed to eat couple bites of meatloaf slice and 1/2 cup mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup of applesauce tonight...well, guess I'll call it a night still have some other things to do and it's only 8p.m....everyone take care and be careful...much luv to all...nite <3

Changes...

Changes have come about since I got up this morning that we weren't expecting to happen so soon...I had my alarm to go off at 6:30 a.m. so I would be ready and we could go see ma....we do every Sunday...when I came out to the living room he was in pain with his right leg...the cane nor the one crutch helped him...why didn't you holler at me...cause you needed your sleep...but I don't need you to fall and make anything worse...
Today seemed like one thing after another and just go go go...Tam went to ma's, then church and someone had an electric wheelchair for him to use...not sure it was going to work but this evening we changed our minds...we had some friends come over and they built a ramp outside from the front porch to walk way...then moved the sofa sleeper to living room along with the coffee table and put the futon out in the family room and also moved out the lazy boy chair and makes it roomier...he hops onto (I should say creeps) the wheel chair and gets around a lot easier but I am there to help...I don't need him to fall and break anymore bones...we are still waiting for the plastic cast...should be here around 20th...and then its fitted to his left arm and he can take off whenever as it's velcro closing...it's almost like trying to get around on one leg and using only one arm...so I've got to be there for him for extra support...between me, the desk chair, the wheel chair and cane...we're making it work...this new change on furniture is a lot better...
I have been trying to get so much done last few days after fridays wound clinic appointment for me and being in Georgetown longer than I thought...I was at wound clinic an hour and a half instead of ten or fifteen minutes...they got a bit behind with the new report paperless system...but I finally got will, power of attorney and living will declaration drafted for him to check over and make sure that's what he wants and then make any changes and print legal copy and get them notarized...it's been a long day too...tried laying down today for a little bit...but when my phone starts to ring I give up on naps because the phone will keep ringing and ringing and ringing...lol...and today was one of those days...EVERYthing has worked out for today afterall...I will be placing a call to his doctor to let him know we need a automated wheelchair and mention the cough he has picked up now for about a week...he gets his weekly blood work on Thursday morning since he started the SUTENT last Thursday eve at five p.m....well, I guess I'm going to call it a night it's 12:10 a.m. and I still have my breathing treatment to do and check to see if he's doing okay before bed...Nite all...
