Luncheon...

Well, today was the last grief class and we all went to lunch together...As one of the ladies said, "she feels she has graduated and no set plans but is open to anything and will say yes if anyone asks her to join them for whatever is going on." I too feel that way and will dearly miss the classes or more the friends I have made but will have lunch together every month since we all have something in common.

Three of us including myself enjoyed the movies this past Monday. We went to see "Letters to Juliet"...I really enjoyed it...helped me to have another perspective on life as well as made me realize what my hopes and aspirations were when I was 17 years old...an airline stewardess and get all the traveling in I could before settling down...Man, how life plans/goals can change...no regrets, I have been blessed with a loving husband who has passed away and I have two B E A U T I F U L daughters and granddaughters and son-in-law.

Well hope everyone is doing good and prayers go out to all who are in need...
Much luv to all <3 <3 <3 <3

IF...

If they made me a king, I`d be but a slave to you,

If I had everything, I`d still be a slave to you.

If I ruled the night, stars and moon so bright,

Still I`d turn for light to you.

If the world to me bowed, yet humbly I cling to you.

If my friends were a crowd, I`d turn on my knees to you.

If I ruled the earth, what would life be worth,

If I hadn`t the right to you.

Prayers needed...

Prayers are still needed...friends and family are passing away...earlier this month friends of youngest...my aunt Claudine...a dear friend of ours, one of Tim's coffee buds just this past week as I found out yesterday on post office window posting and totally fell apart...now, I hear that my cousin Cindy/Randy's wife (mom's sisters daughter-in-law) passed away today, she was only 50 yrs old...a friend, Moria's father this past week as well...among those in the news and friends online who've had a few pass away...I'm at a loss for words...is it going to ever end...I know, a foolish question...it's hard to hear as still too close to home...

My condolences and prayers for all friends and family...I guess that song Carrie Underwood has just come out "Temporary Home" seems to be...uhhhh...loss for words...

God Bless everyone...<3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Valentine's Day...

Roses are Red
Forget Me Nots are Blue
My Roses are White
For My Eternal You...

With this Special Day
Some Red Ones too
My Valentine Heart
The Love so True...

I couldn't let this VALENTINE Day go by as it's one of our Special Days to celebrate our Love...even with his passing I luv him even more.

I went over and placed flowers and was going to take a picture or two but my camera batteries were kaput...;) So, I made an effort to go over today hoping there weren't too many people there and take a few...It was another nice day with the sun shining...I'm still waiting on the headstone to get finished and placed which should be next month...

I also stopped by ma's and visited with her and she is doing fine...asks about everyone and sends her love...showed her the pictures I took...I gave her some Date-oat muffins...I have been wanting to try that recipe for over a year now and just never got to it...but wanted something with less fat and carbs so I found another recipe....ohhhhhh ohhhhhhh, boy did it turn out good...fat friendly, calorie friendly, and for sure carb friendly...tehehehe...most definately MOIST....lol...I have to laugh about this when I was taking the time to slice open and remove the seeds/pit and then dice the dates...I kept thinking this looks famaliar...okay so I have an odd/funn:D sense of thought...lol...the dates reminded me of bugs like brown beetles or the R---h word...LOL...I told you it was odd/funn:D thought...but I guarantee they are delish...I have in freezer so don't go to waste...anyway, here is recipe if anyone wants to try...

Date-Oat Muffins (12)

1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup rolled oats (I used cooking oats)
1 cup milk (I used skim that all I have in house)
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 egg whites (I use exlarge eggs)
1/3 cup canola oil (recipe calls for 1/3 cup melted butter/maragine)
1/4 cup applesauce (I used some cinnamon homemade applesauce-thx Michele)
1/2 cup chopped pitted dates

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a muffin pan or line with muffin
liners.
2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in the oats, milk, sugar, egg whites, oil, applesauce and dates; mix just to combine. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. At first I thought it was going to make more than 12 but the cups were filled to almost very top of paper liners.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean. I believe I checked at 25 mins and they were done so I took out and let set a few mins and then put on rack to cool off.

Today...not good news...

Today since early this morning...news hasn't been good...I have been crying since I went to bed last night/early this mornin'...up early to be sure daughter was out of here to get back to Vegas for work...immediately heard Carrie's song in a video and posted...so heart warming but yet sad...

When I realized I hadn't heard from daughter that she got back to Vegas ok, I noticed I didn't have my cell fone out in the living room with me so I went and retrieved it from the bedroom...Tamra had called and also left voice mail but I also had a text from a niece sending an early much luv'd Valentine greeting...:D
I called Tamra not realizing there was a voice mail til she told me...her friend's brother passed away a couple days ago...I asked her to tell him and his family my prayers are with them all...

It has been pretty much one of them days for crying...my aunt Evvy sent me an email thinking she was trying to cheer me up...here it is:

How to Dance in the Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought,

'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message. This one I thought I could share with you.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you care about. I just did.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.'

I got on to check my email before getting on FB and found a reply back from aunt Evvy that I had sent to her saying thank you for sending "How to Dance in the Rain"...her sister, my aunt Claudine passed away this mornin' supposedly from a massive heart attack...no arrangements yet...I replied back sending my condolences and that my prayers were with them all...sort of reminiscing on the fact that her dad, my gpa passed away on my b-day in the same month and then gma on same day but in June...now my aunt Claudine in this same month...too many are passing in our families on both sides especially since last year...and now it's continuing into this year...oh my oh my oh my....I hope that Carrie's video on FB, Myspace, and here gives some solace to those who are in need...

My prayers and luv are with elf...eryone...<3 <3 <3 <3

Doing better...

Well, I said I would continue to blog but I'm not doing so good at it...youngest is "Doing better" at it than I...here is something I wrote a few weeks back...

"No winters last forever; no springs skips its turn." Anonymous

It's the end of one chapter and a beginning of a new one. Open hearts and minds bring an eventual harmony; alone only you can make it meaningful. The change permits us to emerge anew and so the new chapter begins...me! ;) <3
The process is hard and confusing at times...soooooooo lost and where do I belong anymore...I'm not angry or mad, I don't question why; I understand "why"...I didn't deny he's gone, I know he is but it just felt like he was working his 12 hour days for inventory at his job but now not sure what to feel or do at times...I'm busy but I'm not busy...I do my errands 2-3 times a week...its quiet even tho TV on and I may be on FB...when the youngest comes home from Vegas, if only for a day...she keeps me on my toes...sometimes its hard to see her leave...I've never been alone...there's always been someone in my life and close by...Tim and I both never felt the need to always have something to say...just knowing the comfort of each other in the same room was more than enough for us and I feel lost without that...so my biggest struggle is as the song says, "Now you're not here; Cause you're not here"...Forever Autumn by the Moody Blues...so so so lonely and quiet. <3
I also have to say even after 24 years together, I miss those kisses that make me light-headed from day one...as we both said, "It doesn't seem like the years have gone by, it's just like yesterday."

No the house hasn't sold yet, only had two people come through in December and one in January...The Realtors had a tour of different homes on January 5Th and mine was included...the bank calls almost weekly to keep posted...my realtor is putting an add in the booklet that is on newsstands for home sales in the regional area...suppose to be out this month...

Hospice offers help to those left behind for about a year maybe longer if they/we might need it...I received a letter in the mail a few weeks back offering a class/meeting on bereavement starting February 18Th and on every Thursday for eight weeks...I called and said I would like to come...I'm not sure its for me but I'm hoping it will help me more...

Not sure what else to say...not getting any more done in going through things...manage to keep house clean for when a realtor does call to bring someone...I do sleep 6-8 hours but my hours are mostly late and I am eating healthy...Jack has become more of a crier and I think he misses Poppy too...the other day, I was getting ready and Jack knew I was in bedroom for he just walked out and next thing I know he is crying, then stops and walks back to the bedroom again and I asked him, "What's that all about?"...lol...looks at me funn:D like when we had all that rain last month and I'd have to take him out...I'd tell him to wipe his feet; he stops at the door, turns and looks at me like "What you talkin' bout?" and runs like a jackrabbit into the house...omg he is funn:D!!!!

Anyway, I need to close and make myself get something done...hahaha...probably FB til I hear from Tam...she'll put me to work...tehehehe...luv to all and take care...;) <3 <3 <3
