Father's Day 2007 - Daughters by John Mayer (song in playlist)

Love Is...Like Two Roses Blooming Together - August 1985

Love is...

Knowing you've met someone you want to spend he rest of your life with...

Knowing that someone cares...

Knowing you can talk in mutual agreement and not hold back...

Knowing you can express your feelings in touching...

Knowing you can speak through your eyes...

Knowing when your sad - that someone feels with you...

Knowing when you cry - that someone cries with you - in tears or from the heart...

Knowing you can enjoy laughing together...

Knowing you will explore new things together...

Knowing you want the same dreams to come true...

Knowing you will together take the good with the bad...

Knowing your home life will be built together side by side and not around each other...

Knowing you'll work in sweat and toil together out of love...

Knowing if you disagree on things you won't blow things out of proportion but work them out...

Knowing you'll both be there if your children need your help or advise...

Knowing you'll see your grand-children grow up into beautiful people...

Knowing you'll look forward to every New Year with new joys, hopes, faith and dreams more

fulfilling than before..

Knowing you'll both grow old together...

Knowing you love each other for always and forever...

LOVE IS............LOVE

"CRABBY OLD MAN"

I HAD TO ADD THIS TO MY BLOG...SO B E A U T I F U L!!!!!

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in North Platte, Nebraska, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Missouri. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this " anonymous" poem winging across the Internet.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? What do you see?
What are you thinking...when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit...with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food...and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice..."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice...the things that you do.
And forever is losing...A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding...The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?...Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse...you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am...As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding...as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten...with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters...who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen...with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now...a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty...my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows...that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now...I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide....And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty...My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other...With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons...have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me...to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children...My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me...My wife is now dead.
I look at the future...I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing...young of their own.
And I think of the years...And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man...and nature is cruel.
'Tis jest to make old age look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles...grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone...where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass...A young guy still dwells,
And now and again...my battered heart swells
I remember the joys...I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living...life over again.

I think of the years all too few...gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact...that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people...open and see..
Not a crabby old man...Look closer...see...ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who
you might brush aside without looking at the young soul
within.....we will all, one day, be there, too!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM

2004 Christmas Dresses

This is my oldest daughter, Charli and her
husband Gary and my two grand-daughters,
Erin's in blue and Melissa's in burgandy.
I made these two dresses for Christmas
and they look pretty good on the girls.

Doll Birthday Cake 2004

This was my first time attempting to decorate a doll birthday cake and I haven't done one since...lol. I'll leave it to the professionals! She looks like she's drowning...lol...sorry, I should have made her stand up higher then decorate her body with the icing. Daughter liked it anyway. That's what is important.

Thinking of you...2005

Using this picture to show the card I made above.

Poem of Love

Anniversary

Our first meeting was so long ago,
But seems like yesterday.

With many peaks and valleys,
And no regrets I can say.

Your love has touched deep within,
And with every kiss I swoon.

Your loving arms around me,
Makes me feel like a spinning room.

I love you oh so much,
And sorry I don’t often say more.

So, Happy Anniversary honey,
May god bless us many years galore!

One of My Poems...

A Daughter, A Mom as Friends

There is a crying out in quiet Tamra
A sad tearfulness of her blue eyes
As if she longed to be
And had since known her short life--it raw

Her heart soars to new heights
And though deep down there is a sorrow
You want it to be a better tomorrow
To see her eyes twinkle bright

Try to be happy, and trying, has its smile
Hers is not forced, but of loneliness
You won’t be sadden as she goes the mile
But sadden by her tears, nonetheless

As she lets her dance and song in heart
Leave a past mark on her way to a new life stance
She’ll sing with life on church choir night
And show her heart star of bright

So don’t let tears give in
As she could be near
To always have that friend
A mom--at home she has been here
